About Miss Fitz-Gerald
Hello! My name is Libby Fitz-Gerald. I teach elementary vocal music. You might have heard of me as "that lady who plays ukulele". I graduated in May of 2013 from Hope College which is well known for both its Music and Education programs. I began teaching in the Troy School District the fall of 2013. My time in Troy has been beyond my wildest dreams. I have so enjoyed meeting all of these wonderful students and getting to know them through music.
I love what I do. I could not ask for a more enjoyable job! My philosophy for teaching music is that students need to experience music in all of its forms and in all ways. In my class, we play games, sing songs, do dances, play music, and much more. Each concept I teach is experienced by students in several different ways to appeal to all learning styles and preferences. Sad faces are an uncommon sight in my class and smiling and laughter abounds. I like to have fun with music because it is what I am most passionate about. I am a classically trained vocalist and love singing. I hope to pass my passion and love for music on to your children and mold them into life-long music makers.
Please feel free to email me at [email protected]. Now, enough about me! Explore the other pages of this site to get a glimpse of what Miss Fitz-Gerald's Music Maestros are up to!
